CASO LOMBARDI 1978 LA MOVIDA - AN INTERACTIVE MURDER MYSTERY

Lombardi Case: Asesinato en la Movida was created and produced in Madrid at the height of a city still vibrating from its own rebirth. Inspired by La Movida Madrileña—the explosive cultural movement that erupted after the fall of Franco—the production dropped audiences into a world of excess, liberation, and dangerous reinvention. This was a Spain shedding decades of repression overnight, where art, sex, music, and identity collided in a fever dream of possibility… and consequence.

Set against that backdrop, audiences didn’t sit back and watch—they moved through it. As Spain’s first immersive promenade theater piece, Lombardi Case transformed the city itself into a living crime scene. Participants navigated shifting alliances, interrogated suspects, and uncovered a murder buried beneath the hedonism of a generation discovering freedom for the first time. The line between spectator and participant disappeared, replaced by urgency, risk, and the thrill of discovery.

The result was a landmark theatrical event. Critically acclaimed and embraced by audiences, the production ran for two years in Madrid, performing for private groups and establishing a new language for immersive storytelling in Spain.

More than a mystery, the Lombardi Case captured a moment in history—when a country broke open, and anything, including murder, felt possible.
